Just disinfected my directors laptop from the IAC international Police Association Ransom Ware!
Following a full day trying numerous ways I found on the net I tried one of my old tricks and it worked straight away with no downloads!
I just removed it the easy way
1. Start in safe mode with networking (F8 from boot)
2. Make a new user profile (administrator level) in windows in safe mode
3. Reboot
4. Select new profile
5. You can now start a full system virus scan on the new profile
Hey Presto!
You can now remove the virus completely from the system once the scan has finished
NB Once you restart and use your original profile make sure you rescan the whole system as the virus will have duplicated it self when you close the system down after you remove it.
Use malware bytes to remove the virus
